I am posting this photo of Marc Lucesco in honor of his 18 month anniversary of being sober. Part of the harsh reality of life is that sometimes you can only get from one place to the other by putting one foot ahead of the other. And since it is only one step each day, sometimes it doesn't feel like you are moving as fast as you should, but suddenly you turn around and you can barely see your starting place anymore.
The struggle for sobriety is much like the struggle to come to consciousness and live your life in a free, open and honest manner. Even after 18 months it can be a struggle. Even after 18 years. But none of that matters if you don't take responsibility for what you do today. In Hebrew, every letter also has a numeric value. If you add up the letters in the word "chai" - which means 'life' in Hebrew - it equals 18. A very appropriate coincidence to today's post. To life, Marc!
